The Radiation Oncology Department at Inova Joseph Viar Jr. and Bonnie Christ Cancer Center – Alexandria offers a comprehensive cancer treatment program which is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, with commendation, and by ASTRO’s Accreditation Program for Excellence (APEx). At Alexandria our goal is to provide patients with highest quality, patient-centered care throughout the treatment journey. No matter where the patient is in the treatment process, he or she will also find a helping hand to help them take the next step towards recovery.

The Inova Joseph Viar and Bonnie Christ Cancer Center, part of the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, is equipped with state of the art, technologically advanced radiation therapy equipment available today.

Medical Director: Dr. Jason Sun attended Harvard Medical School, completing the MIT-Harvard Health Science and Technology M.D. Program. His clinical interests include genitourinary, gynecologic, head and neck, breast, thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies.

Physicians: Dr. Lonika Majithia received her MD from the University of New Mexico. After graduation, she completed her medicine internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and her radiation oncology residency at The Ohio State University. Drs. Jason Sun, Lonika Majithia, Gopal Bajaj, Samir Kanani, Stella Hetelekidis, Susan Boylan, Ashish Chawla, Joseph Lee, Kevin Choe and Michael Eblan are part of the largest and most experienced Radiation Oncology team in the metropolitan D.C. area.

Full time Medical Physicists, Certified Medical Dosimetrist and Registered Nurses: Oncology Certified Registered Nurses.

Radiation Therapists: Certified Radiation Therapists to perform the daily radiation treatments and simulations.

Support staff: Nurse Navigator, MSW Social worker and Registered Dietitian on-site.
